Accuracy is the closeness of a measured value to a standard or known value, while precision is the closeness of two or more measurements to each other.  3D printing is replacing machining.  Etched foil heater’s accurate and precise thermal profiles or temperature gradients are a key enabler to printing objects in the medical, dental and industrial fields.

Thermal Circuits’ heaters cover or wrap a reusable thermally conductive plate or enclosure. This enclosure houses containers with metals, thermal plastics, solid ink, waxes, acrylate and other thermal plastics. When called upon, the heaters warm the printable materials and enable a phase change from a solid to liquid.

Umbilical or conduit heaters.

Heated tubes transfer the liquid media from its original container to the printhead. By maintaining a uniform thermal profile along the entire length, the media remains in a liquid state through deposition.
As the name implies, the printhead does the work/printing and contains the most elaborate and detailed watt density distribution. This near-infinite distribution of heat is created element pass-by-pass and similar to how pixels create a high definition image, voxels create a three-dimensional object. Voxels by definition are a volumetric pixel (volume pixel). These three-dimensional pixels are the tiniest distinguishable element of a 3D object. Alternatively, voxels are a volume element that occupies a specific location in 3D space.

Platen heaters

Used to maintain the temperature of the already-deposited media/object at a temperature that is just below the melt point.

 Similarly, hopper heaters are used to maintain the temperature of the pre-deposited media at a temperature that is just below the melt point.
