Heaters for Consumer and Commercial Applications

Thermal Circuits etched foil element heaters for use in food preparation have the following unique characteristics:

  • Creative heating solutions can radiate, conduct, convect, bake, fry, toast, warm, steam, dry, and re-thermalize.
  • Custom-profiled heating design or watt density distribution can compensate for heat loss. This compensation comes from up to 500W to as little as <1W per squared density profile.
  • Provides up to three times greater peripheral heat.
  • Uncomplicated.
  • Simplified mounting.
  • One etched foil heater can replace multiple quartz, cast-in tubular and other types of elements.

Designers of heated food service equipment must offer a broad range of ready-to-market products to all facets of the food service industry including restaurants, fast food, cafeterias and institutions.

200ºC Hot Plate Assembly for Re-Thermalization of Food

Hospitals and institutions serve meals from multi-tiered thermalization food serving carts or corridor/floor transport serving consoles. Meals are cooked, frozen and stored in the carts to be heated and served at a later time. Thermal Circuits manufactures assembly modules including silicone rubber insulated etched foil heaters vulcanized to anodized aluminum platens outfitted with thermostats and overtemperature devices. The modules can be rectangular or round to fit the specifications of the cart and are manufactured to withstand the rigors of steam cleaning.

Toaster – Traditional Vertical and Horizontal IR Heaters
(Consumer and Commercial)

Thermal Circuits’ etched-foil toaster element toasts faster and more uniformly. This fact is accomplished with a longer wavelength of IR energy in which organic/carbon-based materials more readily absorb.  In a vertical position the circuit pattern can be profiled to provide the most heat across the bottom and a linear watt density gradient from bottom to top as well as sides to center.  The construction of the toaster element/ceramic emitter consists of a softer primary HTB that enables expansion and contraction. The outer/secondary HTB is relatively harder which protects the primary binder, and element while matching the application’s structure and thermal needs. Horizontal etched foil toaster elements are produced in a similar manner and with the same advantages. The toaster heater is the forerunner to Thermal Circuits’ Infrared Panel Emitters.

Warmers – Holding Bins and Warming Drawers  (Commercial (fast food))

Thermal Circuits offers a full line of mica insulated heaters for use in various holding and warming applications.  These heaters maintain both wrapped sandwiches, ready for sale and precooked proteins such as hamburg, chicken etc., ready to be assembled and sold.  These heaters offer several options including integral, flat-foil thermocouple temperature sensors.  These mica, fiberglass, and ceramic hybrid-constructions are thermally robust and do not require the typical over-temperature protection eliminating this expense.

Similarly, carving stations, display cabinets and buffets need the ability to maintain the temperature level that will keep food palatable.  Thermal Circuits PTC temperature-controlled silicone rubber insulated elements can provide heat to either a mobile or permanent station.

Lightweight Clothes Iron
Sole Plate Heater

Thermal Circuits’ improved upon the generations-old clothes iron design to yield an energy efficient, battery compatible, thermally responsive/ quick-to-heat clothes iron.  The solution removed the thick and heavy cast iron soleplate with a thin, anodized aluminum heater plate which inherently has low thermal mass.  Coupling the lighter soleplate with an etched foil (vs. cast-in tubular) element yields a massive reduction in weight which enables thermal responsiveness and battery compatibility.  The etched foil element’s infinitely profiled watt density replaces the historic “thermal fly-wheel” approach with thin film heater technology.

Engineered Products

Flexible Heaters from Thermal Circuits are light, bendable and can conform to irregular shapes, contours and 3-dimensional patterns. They are simple to apply, yet are capable of higher output than traditional metal-clad heaters. Thermal Circuits designs materials that are compatible with integration and challenging environments
